Parents Agenda

Immediately following the Pre-IEP Meeting, a parent agenda is formulated. If the next step is calling another IEP meeting, we will describe [in some detail] what will [or should] take place. Of course, the parent’s agenda are the items the parent wants to discuss and deliberate at the next meeting. That letter is written by the Doctor/Advocate and sent to the District as appropriate notice as to what will be covered in the next meeting. In this way, the District is required to address each and every parent issue and/or explain in writing why they refuse to do so under “Prior Written Notice.” On the other hand, if the parent’s agenda is to file a formal legal complaint with OAH, then the District will be put on notice that they are about to be served with an OAH complaint.
